Professional Photography Tips – Essential Items That You Must Have in Your Camera Bag

You might have seen professional photographers bringing along their camera during their photo-taking sessions. Even if the bag looks a bit bulky, it allows adequate space for the photo-taking equipments. As a professional photographer, you have to be well-equipped all the time since photo-taking process can be so unforgiving – you would lost a perfect shot of your lifetime if you’re not well-prepared.

Let’s take a deeper look inside the photographer’s bag – what’s inside it?

1. Batteries and charger

image Some digital cameras have their own rechargeable batteries. Therefore, it can only be recharged by using its battery charger. Since photo-taking sessions can be time consuming, it’s wisely that you have some spare batteries ready. If your camera uses normal AA batteries, you’ll need to bring some extras to avoid hassle of having lack of power problems.

2. Mini-umbrella

image As your camera is not waterproof, having an umbrella can protect your camera from rainwater when unexpected rain occurs during your photo shoot. If you’re cannot bear the hot weather if you’re taking pictures outdoors during summer – you can use this mini-umbrella as your shelter from the sunlight.

3. Studio lighting kit

image If you’re carrying a big size photographer bag (or a carrying case) – you can bring along your studio lighting kit to illuminate your subject in either indoor or outdoor photo shoot. Take note that taking a perfect picture requires creative adjustment of the picture brightness and contrast.

4. Carbon-fiber tripod

image Tripod is useful when you’re taking pictures in the same angle or location for long period of time as it is pretty exhausting to hold the camera by using your hands. Although some cameras have built-in shockproof technology – it still doesn’t match a rock-solid tripod. It’s the best way of avoiding shaky images though this carbon-fiber tripod is lighter than normal tripods.

5. Memory cards

It’s frustrating when you select old pictures to delete in your memory card if you plan to reuse it over couple of times. It is better that you have at least one extra memory card in your bag when you’ve exceeded the size limit of your memory card in your camera. For instance, you have an extra SD or XD memory card in your bag in case of emergencies.

6. Snack bars

If you’re planning to take pictures outdoors – it’s preferable that you travel lightly by bringing a much smaller size bag. Put some snack bars into your bag – just in case there’s no food during long-hours photo-taking sessions. It’s not worth to skip meals as you need enough energy and stamina to bear long and strenuous photo-taking sessions.
